# FAQPage schema

FAQPage schema is JSON-LD that lists the questions and answers visible on a page, so engines can read them as ready-made question-and-answer pairs.

It is the structured-data type most directly aligned with how answer engines work: a question, an accepted answer. The questions and answers must appear on the page word for word; hidden or mismatched FAQ markup is treated as spam.

Keep answers short and self-contained so each one can be quoted on its own, and phrase questions the way users ask them.
