# Tracked prompt

A tracked prompt is a question a buyer might ask an AI engine, run on a schedule so that changes in the answer can be measured over time.

Prompts are the AI-search equivalent of tracked keywords, but they are full questions: "What is the best X for Y?", "X vs Y for Z", "How do I do W?". A useful set covers category, comparison, use-case and problem prompts, grouped into topics.

Prompts are usually not branded. A branded prompt ("What is Acme?") almost always mentions the brand and teaches you little; an unbranded category prompt is where visibility is won or lost.

AI answers vary between runs, so each prompt is run daily and visibility is read as a rate over time, not as the result of one run.
