Citation analysis
Citation analysis is the study of which pages and domains AI answers cite for a set of prompts, used to find the sources that shape a category.
Across a prompt set, the cited domains concentrate: a handful of review sites, forums, publications and competitor pages account for most citations. Knowing which ones lets a team target content and PR where engines already look.
Three views matter: the most-cited domains overall, the share of citations your own site earns, and the citation gap, meaning sources that cite competitors but never you.
Because citations are stored per answer, every aggregate can be traced back to the prompt and the sentence it came from.
